Gerontological Counselling
Gerontological Counselling and Case Management at O’Joy support seniors through the emotional, psychological, and practical challenges of ageing. Our trained counsellors and social workers journey with older persons facing loneliness, grief, or declining health, helping them regain purpose and stability.
Through personalised counselling and coordinated care plans, we aim to enhance mental well-being, connect them with community resources, and empower them to age with dignity and joy.

Who We Help
Individuals aged 50 years old and above facing the following challenges:
-
Grief and loss
-
End of life / Existential concerns
-
Loneliness / Social isolation
-
Forgetfulness and diminishing ability to manage daily living
-
Difficulty adapting to transitions and changes (eg. job status, decline in psychological or physical health etc.)
Additionally, we offer support for family members and caregivers experiencing stress while caring for their elderly loved ones dealing with the abovementioned concerns.
Community Resource, Engagement & Support Team (CREST)
O’Joy’s CREST programme raises mental health and dementia awareness in the community. Our team identifies at-risk individuals, offers emotional support, and connects them to timely care such as counselling and medical services.
We work closely with families and community partners to ensure seniors and individuals in distress receive the help they need early, promoting mental well-being and reducing the risk of social isolation.

LT, 50 yo
I would like to thank and appreciate my counsellor Ms Chew Yat Peng for her professional yet personable approach in helping me walk thru the darkness.

I suffered from past traumatic events that led me into depression. I received no emotional support from friends and family but only judgement and prejudice.

During this difficult time, Yat Peng showed me kindness, patience and understanding. I am very fortunate to have her as my counsellor.

Thank you once again.

I wish to give a shout-out to Magdalene Chua, a counsellor from O’Joy Limited, who had been helping my mom cope with the loss of her husband, my dad, since August 2020.

This is more than a case for Magdalene and she has become a trusted friend to my mom. She brought my mom two colouring books and coloured pencils and they have gone out for meals together, a companion that my mom so badly needs.

I’m grateful to O’Joy Limited for this blessing of a generous and compassionate counsellor in Magdalene Chua.
